The Bay's own brand
Beaumark was the house appliance brand of the Hudson's Bay Company, sold at The Bay for many years. From the late 1970s, Beaumark dryers were built by Camco, the Canadian company linked to GE Canada, so they share their basic design with Moffat, McClary and GE dryers of the same era. They are vented dryers, mostly electric, with dial timers and mechanical switches. The model number on the label tells us which Camco platform your Beaumark is based on.
Common Beaumark repairs
Beaumark dryers usually come to us with no heat, a drum that will not turn, or squeaking and thumping. No heat on electric models is typically an element, thermal fuse or thermostat. A silent drum points to a broken belt or idler pulley. Noise often comes from worn drum slides or a rear drum bearing, the same wear points found on GE-designed dryers. Because there are no codes, we test each part rather than guessing.
