Common Summit faults
What goes wrong with Summit dryers
Ventless drying problems
Heat-pump dryers depend on clean lint filters and a clear condenser. Clogs are the most common reason they dry slowly.
Water tank alerts
A full tank or a blocked drain line will stop a ventless dryer mid-cycle.
Parts lead time
Some Summit parts must be ordered in. We confirm the model first and give you the timeline up front.
Compact heat-pump dryers on 240 V
Summit, made by Felix Storch in New York, sells compact and specialty appliances. Its 24-inch heat-pump dryers, such as the SLDHP344, are ventless and, despite their small size, are listed for a 208 to 240 V supply with a 4-prong plug, not a regular wall outlet. They are ENERGY STAR certified and suited to condos and closets where a vent cannot be run. Summit also offers other laundry options, so check the rating plate to confirm what your model needs.
Keeping a Summit dryer drying
Like any heat-pump dryer, a Summit relies on air moving freely through lint filters and a heat exchanger. Clean the main lint filter after every load and the secondary filter as often as the manual says. Empty the condensate tank, or route the drain hose so it cannot kink or siphon. Give the dryer some breathing room, because it exchanges heat with the room. Slow drying that builds up over time is usually a cleaning issue, not a failed part.
Parts and lead times
Summit parts are mostly sourced through the manufacturer and specialty distributors rather than local stock, so some repairs take two visits: one to diagnose and one to install. We confirm the part and timeline with you before ordering. When booking, send the model and serial number from the label, describe any messages on the display, and tell us whether the dryer drains to a standpipe or uses its water tank.

FAQ
Summit dryer repair — FAQ
Do you repair Summit gas and electric dryers?
Yes. We repair Summit compact heat pump & electric dryers across Calgary and nearby towns.
Where is the model number on my Summit dryer?
Usually on a sticker inside the door opening or on the back panel. Have it ready when you call — it helps us bring the right parts.
Is my Summit dryer worth repairing?
In most cases, yes. Common failures like fuses, heating elements, belts, rollers and sensors cost far less than a new dryer. If yours is not worth fixing, the technician will tell you honestly.
Can a Summit heat-pump dryer plug into a regular outlet?
Models like the SLDHP344 are listed for 208 to 240 V with a 4-prong plug, so they need a dedicated dryer receptacle, not a standard 120 V outlet. Some other Summit laundry products use 115 V. Check the rating plate on your dryer. If the receptacle is wrong for the plug, have an electrician sort it out.
Why is my Summit dryer leaving water on the floor?
On ventless models, water usually comes from an overfilled tank, a drain hose that has slipped out of the standpipe, or a kinked or blocked drain line. Check those first. If the hose and tank are fine, a drain pump, float switch or internal hose may need attention, and that is a job for a technician.
