Dryer Vent & Airflow Service Calgary
Lint is the reason most dryers overheat, blow fuses and take forever to dry. When we service a dryer we clean lint out of the machine itself, replace crushed or foil transition ducts, and check that air moves freely to the outside.

Signs you need this repair
- Clothes take two or more cycles to dry
- Top of the dryer is very hot to the touch
- "Check vent", "AF", "FLO", d80/d90/d95 or "Clean vent" warnings
- Burning or hot-lint smell
Safe checks before you call
- Clean the lint screen before every load.
- Look outside while the dryer runs: the flap should open and you should feel strong airflow.
- Never use plastic or vinyl duct behind a dryer.
Unplug the dryer before you touch anything inside it. Leave panels, wiring and gas parts to a technician.
What usually causes it
Common causes we find
Lint inside the cabinet
Lint gets past the screen and builds up around the blower wheel, heater and burner. We open the dryer and clean it out — something a vent brush from outside cannot reach.
Crushed or foil transition duct
The short duct between the dryer and the wall gets crushed when the dryer is pushed back. We replace it with a rigid or semi-rigid metal duct.
Blocked outdoor hood
Bird nests, frost and lint can jam the outside flap. We check that it opens fully when the dryer runs.
Long or complex vent runs
Upstairs laundry rooms and long runs collect more lint. If the run inside the walls or to the roof needs a full cleaning, we will tell you and explain the options.

FAQ
Vent & Airflow Service — FAQ
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
Most manufacturers recommend inspecting and cleaning the vent system at least once a year, and more often for large families or long runs.
Do you clean vents that go to the roof?
We clean and service everything at the dryer end and the transition duct. For long roof runs we will check airflow and tell you if a full duct cleaning is needed.
Is a clogged vent really a fire risk?
Yes. Lint is highly flammable, and a dryer that cannot exhaust properly runs hotter. Clogged vents are a leading cause of dryer fires.
