What goes wrong with Equator dryers
Combo units finishing wet
All-in-one washer-dryers dry more slowly than a separate dryer. If clothes come out wet, the condenser, fan or heater may need service.
120 V compact dryers
Compact 120 V dryers take longer by design. A clogged lint screen or duct makes it much worse.
Door and drum faults
A door that does not latch, or a drum that will not turn, is usually a door lock, belt or motor issue.
Compact vented dryers and combos
Equator focuses on small-space laundry. Its compact vented dryers, such as the ED 852, hold about 3.5 cubic feet, run on household 110 to 120 V power and can be wall-mounted, stacked or set on the floor. Equator also sells all-in-one washer-dryers that wash and dry in the same drum without a separate exhaust duct. The two types are built very differently, so tell us which you have before we come, as the parts and diagnosis are not the same.
What we see on Equator units
On the compact vented dryers, long dry times usually come from a packed lint screen, a long or crushed vent hose, or overloading the small drum. Heat faults come down to the element, thermal fuse or thermostats. On combo washer-dryers, wet clothes at the end of a cycle can point to a fan, heater, condensing system or drain problem, but the most common cause is simply putting in a full wash load and expecting it all to dry. Combos dry best with smaller loads.
Care and booking
For combos, clean the pump filter as the manual describes, leave the door ajar between uses so the drum can dry out, and keep the drain hose clear. For vented models, clean the lint screen every load and check the hose for kinks. When you book, give us the full model number from the label, a photo of the display if it shows a message, and whether the unit is mounted on a wall, which affects access.

Is my Equator dryer worth repairing?
In most cases, yes. Common failures like fuses, heating elements, belts, rollers and sensors cost far less than a new dryer. If yours is not worth fixing, the technician will tell you honestly.
Why do Equator combo washer-dryers take so long to dry?
All-in-one units have to wash, spin and then dry in one drum, usually with less airflow than a stand-alone dryer. Long cycles are normal. Drying a smaller load than you washed, and using a high spin speed first, helps a lot. If clothes are still soaked after a full dry cycle, a component may have failed and needs testing.
Can you repair a wall-mounted Equator dryer?
Usually yes, though some repairs need the dryer taken down from its bracket to reach the back panel. Let us know it is wall-mounted when you book so we come prepared with a helper or the right plan. Please make sure the area around the dryer is clear so we can work safely.
