Common Gorenje faults
What goes wrong with Gorenje dryers
Condenser and filters
Clogged filters and condensers are the most common reason a Gorenje dryer stops drying well.
Water tank
A full tank or blocked drain stops the cycle.
Parts
Some parts are shared with sister brand Asko. We confirm the model and timeline first.
European ventless dryers
Gorenje is a Slovenian brand that has been owned by Hisense since 2018, and it is the sister brand of Asko. The Gorenje dryers found in Canadian homes are mostly compact condenser and heat-pump models, often bought through European appliance specialists. Condenser models heat with an element and cool the air with room air; heat-pump models use a refrigerant circuit to do both. Either way, the water is collected in a container or pumped to a drain instead of vented outside.
Looking after the condenser side
Most Gorenje drying complaints trace back to lint. Clean the door filter after each load. On condenser models, remove and rinse the condenser as the manual describes; on heat-pump models, clean the filter in front of the heat exchanger and never pick at the fins with sharp tools. Empty the water container each cycle. A Gorenje imported from Europe may also differ from North American models in power and plug, so do not change wiring yourself.
Parts and booking
Because Gorenje has limited Canadian distribution, parts are often ordered from abroad or through the Hisense network, and some are shared with Asko. We confirm availability before starting so you know the timeline. Have the full model and serial number ready, plus where the dryer was bought, since European-market models may use different parts. Note whether the dryer is a condenser or heat-pump type if the manual says so, and describe any display messages.

FAQ
Gorenje dryer repair — FAQ
Do you repair Gorenje gas and electric dryers?
Yes. We repair Gorenje compact condenser & heat pump dryers across Calgary and nearby towns.
Where is the model number on my Gorenje dryer?
Usually on a sticker inside the door opening or on the back panel. Have it ready when you call — it helps us bring the right parts.
Is my Gorenje dryer worth repairing?
In most cases, yes. Common failures like fuses, heating elements, belts, rollers and sensors cost far less than a new dryer. If yours is not worth fixing, the technician will tell you honestly.
Can you get parts for a Gorenje dryer in Canada?
Often yes, but rarely from local stock. Parts usually come through the brand's distribution network, and some components are shared with Asko. We look up your exact model before quoting so we can tell you whether a part is available and how long it is likely to take before any work begins.
How do I tell if my Gorenje is a condenser or heat-pump dryer?
Check the manual or the energy label. Heat-pump models are usually advertised that way and often carry a higher energy rating. On many condenser models, the condenser unit slides out from behind a lower front panel for rinsing. If you are not sure, send us the model number and we will tell you.
