Safe checks before you call
- On condenser dryers, empty the water container and clean the condenser or plinth filter as the manual describes.
- Clean both lint filters on heat-pump models.
- Leave space around a ventless dryer — they need room to breathe.
Unplug the dryer before you touch anything inside it. Leave panels, wiring and gas parts to a technician.
What usually causes it
Common causes we find
Laundry centres
One-piece units (washer below, dryer above) from Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire and others share one cabinet. We repair the dryer section without replacing the whole unit.
Ventless condenser dryers
Bosch, Miele, Blomberg, Beko and others make condenser dryers that collect water in a container or pump it to a drain. Clogged condenser units and drain pumps are common faults.
Heat-pump dryers
These are very efficient but have extra filters and a sealed heat-pump system. They need cleaning of both lint filters and the condenser to dry well.
All-in-one washer-dryers
Combined units wash and dry in one drum. Drying problems are usually condenser, fan or heater faults, and we check the water supply side too.
